Originally a huge tune for DJ Scot Project at Gatecrasher` 'Demons' gets a welcome 2002 remix by Spacecorn that perfectly captures the German/ Dutch sound thats got the UK all up in arms. Spacecorn's mix is a powerful` bass-heavy thunderer with analogue synths galore and mad hoover riffs. The track builds like a tsunami before hitting a major breakdown/ buildup sequence that will blow the roof right off!!!
Absolutely standout production here from D-Air. 'Abrente' is just what you atmospheric trance heads are looking for` from its smooth rolling flow` sparkling stabs and gorgeous rolling melodies to its well-placed chord progressions and steady build. Fans of Hooj Choons/Lost Language take special note.
Evan Marcus' new label starts up with a great first release. The main mix is a dark & twisted ride that blends tribal and techy elements` heavy sounds and throttled bass. On the flip Noel Sanger delivers a huge progressive breaks reinterpretation` dedicated to the recently departed Adam 'Starkid' Spears` a beautiful and lush homage.
D DEVILS- Odins Odyssey New on Byte Progressive and one side of this one features a progressive trancer with a large fog horn in it and the flip side sounds a little more like the hard house that appears on Jumper Mixes Natural Born Peejay s Mix/ Tweety s Mega Mix
Second release this week on the mighty Beat Freak label is more amazing hypnotic tribal gear with some pretty dramatic builds and breaks. The first mix adds a funky breakbeat behind the 4/4
Beat Freak's ace in the hole hits it big once again with this very limited double pack offering. This is classic D-Formation gear so his many fans will not be left dissapointed` from the scorching tribal phunk of the opener 'Themeage' and the insane Latin/Afro percussive freakout on 'The Drummers'. This track alone packs exactly the twisted druggy sounds and lights-out beats that drive crowds wild at Crobar` Space etc.
With Cevin Fisher styled tribal progressive beats and a Bedrock styled and intelligent` space out soundscape this could be veyr large. Bottom heavy` rolling drum patterns` dramatic`sweeping chords and an overall haunting but uplifting vibe that's heavily layered with deep echoing male vocal parts chnating 'new dimensions'. Beatfreak and D Form are on a roll!
D Formation returns with a dandy of a tune here with 'Welcome Home' which sees the Spanish house master delve deep into acidic waters. The track has a deep druggy and hypnotic vibe with eerie effects` haunting sounds and a mean acid line that snakes throughout the mix. A very cool vocal part comes in midway through the track to spice things up nicely. On the flip 'From Tokio To LA' has a slightly darker more proggresive vibe drenched in watery effects` building sound washes` a wicked synth line and druggy grooves.
Huge vocal trance bomb by D:Fuse featuring the voice of Jes who did those amazing vocals for Motorcycle's 'When The Rush Comes'. Disc 1 features the original and instrumental versions.
This one's already getting massive support from Ferry Corsten` Above & Beyond` Signum and Blank & Jones with both the original and Jon O'Callaghan remixes showing up in the charts we've seen so far. The original is a tuff` driving peak hour trancer with dynamic sounds` wicked melodies and an anthemic full breakdown. O'Callaghan's remix takes the vibe into A State Of Trance territory` really working the original's female vocal for all its worth while going for a more progressive-flavoured instrumental vibe that the Marcus Schulz heads will definetly be going for.
The latest trance anthem from Yris comes courtesy of remixers AIRWAVE (aka SVENSON & GIELEN) and prog gods PMT. First up is Airwave` who dish out one for the big room trance massive` working a punchy` building feel with a sick breakdown and infectious melody. PMT go the deep` druggy prog route with authority for those that like it dark n' trippy. Pure class!
