By consigning your music with us you get first priority placement on our home page, genre pages, indie artist section, promotions, and contests. And we can help you out with the data entry too. If you are consigning three items or more, we will do all of the work for you. Make sure you include in your shipment any fact sheets that you want us to use for artist/item promotion and we'll take it from there. This is also valid for you prolific indies. So let's get promoting!

Unsigned Artists

CONSIGNMENT

Put our considerable web presence to work for you. We will feature new consignments weekly on our home page. During and after the introductory period, your music will be rotated as the feature in our indie artists page.

» How Does it Work?
You'll send us your music and set up your account with all of the information needed to sell it. When your music sells, we put money into your account.

» When Do I Get Paid?
Select a payment amount by clicking the "Payment Information" link in the "Discovery Tools" section of your account page. Your check will be mailed on the first of each month provided there is enough money in the account, otherwise, it will be rolled over to the next month.

There will remain in your account at all times enough to cover 2 returns per unique consignment item. This money is not payable until 30 days after the item is removed from your account.

» How much do I get Paid?
It's your music and you get the profits less a small set percentage to cover our costs for distribution and promotion.

Your exact amount depends on how much you want your music to sell for. Our fee is 35% or $3.00 whichever is greater. Below is a short table to give you an idea of how much you will make. Unlike some similar services, this is our total fee with no other hidden charges.

» I'm with a label, can this feature work for us?
Of course, you can create one account to manage all of the artists under your label. If you have a large quantity of items to enter you can always contact us (Unsigned@NRGmusic.com) and we might be able to help you expedite the process.

» What is a wholesale price?
This is the discounted price that you offer to customers that want to buy your items in bulk in order to resell it.

» Why would I set a wholesale price?
Even though it does net you less profit from each individual cd, it allows you to sell a larger quantity in a single sale. Wholesale pricing also aids in the distribution of your music by getting it in stores throughout the world.

» Do I have to set a wholesale price?
No, just leave it blank and customers that buy in quantity will get the same pricing as everyone else.

» I'm going to have my lawyer check it out later, but in plain English, what does your legal agreement say?
Basically here's the low down:

You agree that you own or have the proper license for the music that you are selling.
Even while in our possession, the product is still yours and can be returned to you at your request.
You give us the right to make clips and scans available to our customers.
We get and keep one free copy of each unique item you send us so that we can review and sample it.
We can sample any part of your items for various promotional uses. (Like sending a cd sampler to a radio station.) What it doesn't mean is that we are going to shaft you and put your music on a compilation without your consent and reimbursement.

» What do I do when I want my stuff back?
First, remove the item from your account. Next, send us an email (Unsigned@NRGmusic.com) detailing the item(s) that you want returned and the way you want it shipped and we will issue an invoice for the cost of shipping (we can take this out of your account or bill you once you approve the price on the invoice).

After you get that all filled out, the next step is to actually send us the items. We recommend insuring your packages to make sure that you are covered if your items get damaged in transit. We find that media mail through the USPS is the cheapest method of sending music, but take note that it can take a while to get to us and you might prefer a faster method. Now, here's the address:
