A CVV number is a 3 or 4 digit security code used to further secure your credit card from unauthorized use. This number appears only on your credit card and nowhere else, not even on credit card statements or receipts. We use this number to ensure that your credit card is only being used by someone that actually has the credit card in hand, and not the unscrupulous sales clerk who so conveniently forgot to give you your receipt.
For American Express customers, the CVV code is the 3-4 digits on the front of the card, to the upper left of the card number.
For Visa and Mastercard customers, the CVV code is printed directly on the back of your Visa or MasterCard in the signature area, and is the last three digits immediately following your credit card number for Visa customers, or the last 4 digits of your credit card number for Master Card customers.
