Leading off the mixes here on Disc 2 is Bedrock's 'St James Mix' of their 'Santiago'. They drop a fierce disco bassline on this one with trancey synth overtones that coupled with the smooth chord changes and pumping 4/4 rhythms turns this into one intense dancefloor weapon. Digweed & Muir have definitely raised the bar with this mix!! The flipside features a brilliant remix by Guy Gerber who dirties things up with a fierce electro bassline and sharp rolling synths.
HOT` Sizziling hot Dylan Rhymes / Meat Katie / Plump Dj's remix of Derrick Carter's classic release on Classic 'Where U At'. Tracks not detailed on vinyl.

We think that the crew responsible for the Basement Jaxx vs Daft Punk mash up this week must be responsilbe for this nasty house reworking of Nelly Furtado's smash hit 'Maneater'. This mix is filthy dirty funky grimey house business with great drum editing` grinding bass and a super funky dirty synth groove. track listing unknown.
Specially priced mini-LP from the red-hot Stilleben label! Expect hot disco and electro cuts for the increasing group of fans for Electro & Disco and labels like Creme` Bunker and Viewlexx. Includes cuts from Luke Eargoggle` Monkey Chop` Polytron and Vulva. Six tracks of decadent electro/house pressure for fans of Kraftwerk and Legowelt!
Mysterious white label featuring Tiesto & Airbase remixes of Imogen Heap's gorgeous vocal tune 'Hide & Seek'. The Tiesto mix is a particularly sought after rub since its appearance on his 'In Search Of Sunrise' compilation. Track listing unknown.
The unlikely combination of Finger Lickin's Krafty Kuts with Tim Deluxe results in this monster house/breaks hybrid. This is the first of two twelve's for this single. In its original form the track has a dope breaky house vibe that fans of Drumattic Twins / Lee Combs will freak for with strong synth hooks` wobbly extra large bass` and hard hitting beats. MTV Dance has been giving the video for the original mix 50 plays a week in Europe. Jesse Rose provides the remix on this 12'` a nasty house reworking very much on the Solid Groove widget house tip.
The Clone label hits their 50th release in the capable hands of Bangkok Impact` a man who has played such a large role in this label's success so far. 'Missionary On Mars' combines a Carl Craig-inspired foundation of chugging b-line and techy beats with Bangkok Impact's love of quirky space-disco synth lines` effects and edits` building to a gradual climax where he then drops a spine-tingling lead riff that blasts you off to space disco heaven! On the remix we have Italy's finest` Raiders Of The Lost Arp` delivering a chugging` percussive revamp that is nothing short of mind blowing. Check the chart support coming from The Hacker` Tiga` Lindstrom` Prins Thomas` Marco Passarani` etc.
Instead of a 3xlp and 2xcd compilation as in previous'Detroit Beatdown' releases` 'Volume Two' will be spread across 5 seperate 12' and Dbl 12' offerings` starting with this one` the 'Black EP'. DJ Minx's 'Lavender Lust'` opens DB2. Minx has delivered a deep` twisted groover that just gets deeper and deeper` a slow grinder clocking in at 109 bpm and running for a hypnotic 10 minutes in length. Reggie Dokes follows with the lilting and reflective 'The Skin I'm In'. The track has a delicious` warm vibe that will work really well early in a set. Smith & Hall 'Theme' opens the flip side. Delano Smith and Derwin Hall have collaborated to produce a big` punchy soulful anthem. Finally Black Art Music {aka Greg Stafford} delivers 'Keepin' The Groove'` a deep and atmospheric track which does exactly what it says; takes the groove and runs with it!
Swiss producer St Plomb {Mental Groove/Viking/Initial Cuts} gets together with Detroit Grand Pubahs resulting in a devastating bass n' bleepy electro house excursion with an outrageous funk attitude. Paris The Black Fu's vocals give this one plenty of George Clinton-esque attitude and St Plomb rises to the occasion with a mixture of Moroder-ish bass` subversive acid and the odd breakbeat here and there.
Windsor native` and New York City transplant Marc Houle heads up another hot release for Richie Hawtins Minus imprint. As one third of Run Stop Restore` Marc brought the bleepy almost video game like funk to the table for some of the more jackin shit that was put out of that trio. This release is chock full of that very same style of funk. Nice and diverse` Bay Of Figs covers more areas of minimal techno than probably any releases in the genre to date. Wether you want jackin old school Chicago style bangers` bleepy and bloopy Berlin influenced cuts` or deep and sludgey jams in the vein of James Holden` this EP is just right. Kudos to Mr Houle for bringing such a fine release to the table.
Anthony Collins returns from his killer release on Get Physical (collaborating with Paul Ritch) to drop his first release on Resopal. Both 'Luz' and 'More Please' have a special blend of deep subterranean minimalism and retro techno funk that are uniquely funky and dancefloor movers.
Edgar Dirksen's 'Ghost' has a buzz on it already thanks to plays from Josh Wink. It's a tough funky minimal joint that rides the line between techno and Trentemoller styled minimalism. On the flip 'Thrir' has a similar tough minimal Poker Flat vibe.
If you're into the Underline imprint` Troy Pierce or Someone Else` you'll flip for this bad ass motherfucking jam from Barem. It has cavernous grooves` bubbly analog funk and swinging crunchy micro drum grooves. If that ain't enough (and it is` trust us this shit is bad ass) Pheek drops a mix that is just as large and bad ass on the flip.
